Supermom who???
I found this post from IVillage.com and I love it! As a new mother, I always do what the doctor says and I always trust my motherly instincts. Every child is different; every state/location/country/culture is different. The way I was raised does not mean that I will raise my child the same way. What's good for your child may not be good for mine. One thing is for sure… I LOVE MY SON MORE THAN ANYTHING IN THIS WORLD… and I will always be on his side no matter what…. Well.. not during his honeymoon anyway... hehehehe... we all have our limits. As the mother below said..."I'm not a supermom" and "I'm not perfect".

I love my son, that's a given. I also believe that the overwhelming majority of other parents love their children. These two facts being said...
I do not always LURVE being a mommy. There are times throughout the day that I'm tempted to sell my baby to whoever rings my door next. More then one night I have woken my dh up and all but thrown our son at him. When I'm with family I often try and sucker someone else into changing a diaper. A few mornings I've been exhausted and my son is up and awake and I've turned on PBS, propped him on a pillow and "tried" to get a few more minutes of sleep. My son's wardrobe consists heavily of hand-me-downs from my nephews. I don't have a truckload of toys for him to play with to "stimulate" his intellectual development. The ones I do have he seems to enjoy only for the purpose of mouthing. I sing songs and read him books...but, again, they are ones suggested by PARENTS to stimulate his development-I sing the songs I enjoy and read him books that don't bore me.
There. I said it. I am NOT a supermom. I doubt I ever will be.
I'm tired (and this is not directed at anyone in particular) of trying to be a supermom and tired of spending time figuring out what being a supermommy means.
I am a SAHM but my house is usually more then a little dirty and cluttered. My dh does not get a homemade meal every night.
I laugh with my son, I sing, I play, we go on walks. But I also watch tv (bad, reality tv at that)while he's in his rocker and I'm pushing it with my foot. I DO NOT spend his entire waking periods giving him attention.
His clothes don't always match. His diaper sometimes is dirty for too long. I do NOT sanitize toys that have fallen on the floor. I let my 3 year old nephew touch my son's face without washing his hands. I let the dog lick my son.
did I mention I do not always love being a mom?
I'm not a supermom. I hope my son thinks I'm a great mom (someday) and that my dh thinks so too. but, again, I'm not perfect...
anyone else?
