pichure... pichure

I finally got the first picture of our baby! We went to my OB yesterday for our first OB appointment… but technically it’s the 2nd appointment. The first appointment was to make sure I was pregnant. Yesterday she asked us (Joe and I) about our medical history. She also did my annual check up. My next annual GYN check up was suppose to be on January but it’s harder then because I will be 7 months pregnant by that time, so I guess it will be better to detect any abnormalities now. Anyhoo… there were so many people last night so we waited an hour before we were even seen. It was actually the first time I waited that long. I guess a lot of women go for their check up during this time…. Before Fall starts.
The clinic has a TV in the waiting room. They showed “Freak Friday” while we were waiting. If you’ve seen the movie, there’s a part at the end where the Mom and the Daughter sacrificed each other’s feelings for the benefit of the other. I soo wanted to cry. Of course I sucked it up. It would be embarrassing. It is such a shallow movie!
Finally, the nurse called us in and I told Joe to come with me. She led us into the last room, gave me a form to fill out, and asked tons of questions. Then the doctor came checked out my chart, and asked more questions. She left and another nurse came who took my blood pressure, weight, and did my physical exam. While I was being poked and being investigated (that’s how I felt with so many questions I had to answer), Joe was sitting down and reading the newspaper. Lucky me! I’m not as bored as he was! Ha!
Ok… an hour later, the nurse led us to another room where the ultrasound machine is. The doctor came in and showed us the “miracle of life”. It was Joe’s first time to see an ultrasound/sonogram. So he was amazed at what he saw. The doctor showed the head, the body… and how the baby is sooo active! It was showing off to his DADDY!!!! Hahahahah it was soo cute! It was rolling around throwing his/her arms around. The doctor measured the baby’s size… she said “Wow.. you’re baby is big!” … thinking to myself… [uh-oh]
She (doctor) printed out the pictures and gave us 3 copies. Joe has 1, I have 1 and Aleth (my sister) took the other. My sisters came with me, hoping that they’ll see the ultrasound as well. Unfortunately, there were so many patients that they were standing and we waited a long time. So they went outside, ate in McDonalds and stayed in the car while waiting for us. I felt bad… but oh well.
I have to go back to the doctor in 4 weeks… so that’s end of October. I’m praying that everything goes well and that baby “peanut” (as my sister calls it) will be healthy.
By the way, to explain the picture, the baby is in the gestational sac (like a blob of water). The left round thing is the head and the right somewhat round thing is the body.

Hello Ameeh! You're finally past your 12 weeks, right? How are you feeling now? I hope the nausea has decreased, if not disappeared altogether. I'm glad you're latest obgyn appointment went well. Hopefully, next time you go, you'll hear the heartbeat. Catch you online later! Take care!
