Last Wednesday, May 18 2005, I called one of my friends there sa Manila. I’ve known her maybe around 9 years. But we haven’t spoken since I came here. Her birthday has always been in my calendar. So every year, I see her name and always wonder how she is. She’s a little bit older than me so I always thought that she’s already married. Anyway, I finally was able to call her last Wednesday, hoping that she still lives in the same house and still has the same contact number. And of course, I was lucky! She still lives there, but she wasn’t home. The helper gave her office number. I called her up at work and she was soooo surprised! Hehehe… I like surprising people. She just got married last year. Month of May has no child yet. She met her husband at one of the Singles for Christ events. It’s funny coz I met her through the BBS (bulletin board system) Chat room but she said that after I left to go to New York, she doesn’t use the computer anymore. She doesn’t even have an email address. I was persuading her that she has to start updating herself with the technology so that we have a faster form of communication besides writing a letter and texting. So she gave me her husband’s email address so she’ll just print it!!!! Hahahah. Anyway, she works for her parents. They own a pawn shop, kaya I guess she doesn’t use a computer.



It’s amazing how you suddenly have the urge to get in touch with somebody you haven’t communicated with for so long. You start catching up with what’s going on with both of your lives. It makes me think… I miss having a lot of friends. I miss my life in Philippines.
